Microsoft invests $ 1.5 billion in cloud services in Italy
Analysts expect the Italian cloud computing market to grow at double-digit rates over the next few years, as the need for remote work has grown due to the virus crisis.
Amazon Web Services, a competitor to Microsoft in the cloud computing market, opened a data center in Milan last week, and Google in March signed a partnership with former telecom monopoly Telecom Italia, which also aims to expand the cloud business in Italy.
The new data center will be located in the Milan area. It will be part of a network of similar Microsoft centers in 60 regions of the world.
