Microsoft Outlook, two new “smart” functions on the web

The web version of Microsoft Outlook is also about to receive its Smart Compose, the Gmail feature that uses predictive algorithms to speed up the writing of e-mail messages

For those who have never tried it, it works a bit like virtual keyboards for smartphones: the user starts typing the sentence and the system suggests the next word – also fishing from his list of contacts and other special content.

To insert the suggested word (s), simply press the Tab key.

For the moment the Outlook function is not yet active, but it has been announced by a page of the official Microsoft support site.

The official Microsoft 365 roadmap shows that the feature is currently “in development” and that it is scheduled to be presented later this month

It is worth noting that the page is active only for the English language and not the Italian one (or better: it is there, but it is automatically translated via software).

It is possible that, as often happens, the function will be a United States exclusive in the early stages; this was also the case for Gmail’s Smart Compose.

Among the other news coming soon, apparently there is also the possibility to plan/postpone the sending of an e-mail message. This is expected to arrive next month.
