Microsoft: Project xCloud streaming service will be available on any screen

Microsoft recently confirmed that the Project xCloud cloud service will launch in September this year in several countries. The streaming service based on the Azure platform will be included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but that’s just the beginning. The head of the Xbox Phil Spencer (Phil Spencer) in an interview with The Verge spoke about plans to expand the service.

According to Phil Spencer, Microsoft plans to further expand Project xCloud’s reach in both business models and platforms. The service is currently aimed at mobile devices, but the ultimate goal is to stream games to any screen, as is the case with music and video now.
“Over time, we will continue to expand streaming as part of the platform, and allow you to play your games that are not part of the subscription. At launch, we put the service in Ultimate at no extra cost. We think this is a good audience to start with and that they play a lot of games, ”Spencer said.
The head of the Xbox also confirmed that Project xCloud is not the official name of the service: “This is not an official name, but you should think of it as streaming a Game Pass or Xbox, something like this. We don’t have a final name yet, but it will not be Project xCloud
He added that Microsoft will clarify which mobile devices will support Project xCloud at launch in August or September.
