Microsoft releases 64-bit OneDrive client for Windows
Microsoft announced the release of a preview version of the 64-bit OneDrive client for Windows. This is stated in the official blog of the company. The 64-bit version is recommended for those who work with large files or many files in the cloud storage OneDrive because 64-bit applications can use more RAM.
We know this is a highly requested and long-awaited feature. We are pleased to announce that it is finally available. You can now download a 64-bit version of the OneDrive client for use on work, school, and home accounts, ”the company said in a blog post.
Currently, you can only use the 64-bit OneDrive client on systems with 64-bit processors running 64-bit Windows. ARM64 device users must still use the 32-bit client. A version for this architecture is under testing and is only available in insider builds.
You can download the 64-bit version of the OneDrive client here. The new version will replace the current OneDrive client already installed on the system.
The OneDrive client is included with Windows 10 but can also be installed on older versions of Windows. The app allows you to sync files between your local storage and your OneDrive cloud storage.
