Microsoft says VR on Xbox post is a localization bug

IGN Italy recently came across alleged evidence that Microsoft is working on VR support on Xbox consoles. However, a brand spokesperson told former Kotaku editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo that it was just a localization error.

Microsoft’s reluctance to enter the VR market, even as Valve, Oculus, and Sony Interactive Entertainment continue to make strides in this area, has been a source of frustration for many Xbox fans. Released yesterday, the Xbox Wireless Headset has given hope to gamers hungry for VR on the Xbox Series X and S.

Recall that the IGN Italy journalist reported that when the headphones were connected for the first time, the console displayed a message about the need to update the VR headset. “This is not an easy mistake, as the words about the VR headset are also repeated in the following message and the update launch button: ″ Update available for VR headset ″ and ″ Update VR headset ″, he said.

But a Microsoft spokesman said the console message about the virtual reality headset was a localization error.

“The words in this message are inaccurate due to a localization error. VR for consoles is not a priority for us right now, ”spokesman Steven Totilo said.
