Brand Edge browser advances ever more insistently
Microsoft continues to add more advertising to its Windows 10 operating system.
Microsoft, stop it. Ads crawled into the Windows 10 system search
The other day, the company began to advertise its branded Edge to users of the Google Chrome browser through Outlook.com. Edge ads have now appeared in Windows Search.
When you open the search field, users are offered not only standard blocks but also an advertising banner offering to download the new Microsoft Edge based on the Chromium engine for the “best” network experience.
This is not the first time that Microsoft launches ads on Windows 10. At the end of 2019, ads were noticed by mail and calendar applications, then in the Wordpad application. Then, in the block of recommended applications in the Start menu, users of competing browsers began to receive recommendations to install Edge. However, the search service Windows Search is used for this first time.
