Microsoft will change the user interface of Windows 10

Last week, Windows 10 assembly number 20197 was released, which became available as part of the Microsoft Insider Program for Developers. It showed signs that the company is preparing to make changes to the appearance of the operating system. Now, there is more information on how the main elements of the Windows 10 user interface will look in the future.

It’s no secret that Microsoft continues to reorganize the Windows and Azure development teams. Despite the fact that Windows 10 is now more popular than ever, many will agree that the interface used in it will not be hindered by changes in terms of element design.

It is already known that the upcoming Windows 10 20H2 update will bring users an updated Start menu and a number of other changes. Now, the source says that Microsoft is working on further changes to the interface, elements of which will receive smoother shapes with rounded corners.

Recently, Microsoft has released updates for several Windows 10 applications (including Calculator and Calendar) that change the interface design. You can see the design change of these applications, for example, by opening the context menu. Previously, the design of these apps was straightforward and had sharp corners. Now, more streamlined design with rounded corners has been applied.

Microsoft is also known to be working on a new design for the Start Menu and Action Center based on WinUI, Microsoft’s new user interface platform for current versions of Windows. With the platform, developers can create cohesive and modern user interfaces that look natural in any form factor.

Of course, Windows 10’s rounded corners interface is still under development, so it’s hard to say when it might become available to a wide range of users.
