Modder has developed a procedurally generated map for CS: GO with 30 million item combinations

An enthusiast nicknamed Orel has created a Rogue Inferno training range in  Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with procedural item generation – the system provides more than 30 million possible options. This is reported on the project’s Steam Workshop page.

Orel used the elements and terrain of the competitive Inferno map to create the range. At launch, users can specify the symmetry of the arena in the settings and set a number of other parameters.

As noted in the video, this is not the first map to feature procedural item generation. For example, Counter-Strike: Source used the Havana map, in which the system decided each round whether to leave doorways open or closed. Because of this, users often criticized the map.

The shooting range is available to everyone. To try Rogue Inferno, just subscribe to the project page.
