More speed and destruction: the trailer for the PS5 version of Wreckfest, which turned out to be a temporary PS Plus exclusive
Publisher THQ Nordic and studio Bugbear Entertainment have released a trailer dedicated to the version of the racing action Wreckfest for PlayStation 5. The release will take place on June 1.
The PS5 version will feature 4K and 60fps support, faster downloads, and improved graphics. The picture will improve in many aspects: texture resolution will increase, the quality of shadows, particles, and lighting will increase, vegetation will become denser, twilight rays, dynamic dirt on vehicles, and new brake wake effects appear. Also, Wreckfest will use the tactile feedback of the DualSense controller, and the lobbying capacity in multiplayer modes will increase to 24 users.
The update will be paid for by owners of the PS4 version. They will have to pay $ 9.99, £ 9.99, or € 9.99 – 25% of the full price of the ninth generation console version.
Sony Interactive Entertainment yesterday announced that Wreckfest for PlayStation 5 would be included in the PlayStation Plus Playlist in May alongside Battlefield V and Stranded Deep. Thus, subscribers of the service will get the game on May 4, almost a month before the official release. A similar scheme was used in the racing action movie Destruction AllStars: subscribers received it two months before the premiere.
The Xbox Series X and S version of Wreckfest became available in March. The game runs at 60 fps on the older console and the younger console at 30 fps. In addition, the race received a new tournament, routes, a free car, balance improvements, and technical fixes.
An early version of Wreckfest came out in late 2013. Development funds were raised in part through pre-orders and sales revenue on Steam Early Access, where the game was released in January 2014. The full release took place on PC in 2018, and in 2019 the race started on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The project has a “very positive” rating on Steam (84% positive reviews out of more than 18 thousand).
