Motorola will simplify the names of its smartphones – all models will be included in the Moto G family

Motorola will change its approach to naming its devices. With such a step, the company wants to simplify the choice of smartphones for its users, since their range is quite wide. This was reported by the portal Gizmochina with reference to the insider Evan Blass (Evan Blass).

In the US, the company has recently released several smartphones under the Moto G brand, and all of them have the “2021” prefix. Now Motorola wants to use a two-digit model identification system, similar to how Samsung does in different Galaxy families.

As reported by Evan Blass, the flagship Motorola Edge S (alias Nio), currently on sale in China, will debut in other markets as the Moto G100. The Motorola Capri will be just the Moto G10, and the Capri Plus will be the Moto G30. The release of a smartphone codenamed Java (Moto G20) is also expected, the device will have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory.

Motorola began to regain its former popularity in the smartphone market with the release of the first model in the Moto G family in 2013. In addition to Moto G, the company had many offshoots, for example, Motorola G9, Motorola Moto Z2, Motorola Moto E6, Motorola Edge, and others. Such a motley lineup somewhat confuses users. Therefore, the company decided to simplify the naming principle
