It is assumed that we are talking just about the presentation of the new flagship Motorola. According to preliminary data, the smartphone will be based on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series chipset. It is assumed that it will be last year’s Snapdragon 865 chipset. This, of course, is not the current Snapdragon 888, but its performance will be enough for the vast majority of tasks for a long time.

However, some sources have hinted that the Moto Edge S will be based on an as-yet unannounced chip, codenamed Shima. It is reported that it will be a simplified version of the Snapdragon 888, in which the most powerful Cortex-X1 core will be replaced by a simpler Cortex-A78, clocked at 2.7 GHz. Three more such cores will be able to boast a frequency of 2.36 GHz, and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 will reach the 1.8 GHz mark. The chipset will be able to offer GPU Adreno 660, support for LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 drives.

Otherwise, the Moto Edge S is credited with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of permanent memory is assumed. According to rumors, the device will receive a 90Hz Full HD + screen and a triple main camera with a main 64MP OmniVision sensor. The smartphone will run Android 11 out of the box. When the Moto Edge S arrives, we’ll share all the details about it.
