Mozilla Firefox 83 Released with Big JavaScript Engine Improvements

Mozilla has released a new version of its own browser. Firefox 83, unlike the previous version of the browser, includes a number of significant improvements. One of the most notable changes is the improved performance of the JavaScript engine, which increases the speed of loading and responsiveness of pages, as well as reducing the amount of memory consumed.

In Firefox 83, the developers have increased the performance of the JavaScript engine, due to which the experience of interacting with a web browser should be more comfortable. The changes made increase page loading speed by 15%, page response – by 12%, and also reduce the amount of memory consumed by 8%. No user action is required to use the enhancements as they are enabled by default.

Another innovation is the emergence of the HTTPS-Only mode. As the name suggests, when this tool is activated, the browser will only open secure web pages that support HTTPS. When you try to navigate to an HTTP page, a corresponding warning will be displayed indicating that a secure connection could not be established. Users will still be able to navigate to HTTP pages, but they will now be warned about it. You can activate HTTPS-Only mode in your browser settings.

As for other changes in Firefox 83, it is worth mentioning the introduction of a more convenient way to zoom in pages on touchscreen devices based on Windows and macOS, the ability to adjust the volume when watching a video in picture-in-picture mode, as well as new features for work with files in PDF format.
