In February it was 100 Mbit / s – now it’s already 200 Mbit / s

Elon Musk at the end of February this year promised to double the speed of his satellite Internet system Starlink. The head of SpaceX is known for not throwing words to the wind, and now, after only a little more than a month, Musk’s satellite Internet has really started to work much faster.

Musk promised – Musk did. Starlink satellite Internet started working much faster

If at the beginning of February the data download speed was 100 Mbit / s, and at the end of February – 130 Mbit / s, now it has already reached the value of 200 Mbit / s. Within a year, the speed should increase to 300 Mbit / s, but given how massively new Starlink satellites are being launched into orbit, it can be assumed that the 300 Mbit / s promised by Musk will become available to system users in a few months.

Of course, 200 Mbps is the maximum speed, and the average for the system is lower: according to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the average speed of Starlink reached 80 Mbps – and this is more than the main competitors of the system in the United States – HughesNet and ViaSAT.
