New details of Resident Evil Village: lots of action, furniture barricades and optimization
Capcom has posted an interview with Resident Evil Village producer Tsuyoshi Kanda on its official website. In it, the leader revealed several interesting details of the upcoming horror. It turns out that the game will have a lot of action and mechanics for building barricades out of furniture. The chapter also spoke about the benefits of the new consoles and revealed how many copies of the project Capcom plans to implement.
Tsuyoshi Kanda’s statement reads, “This is a much more action-oriented game. We have included the defense mechanics from the previous [numbered] part but added the ability to counter-attack. You can also use furniture to build barricades, so there are several ways to deal with different situations. We have a few more new features, but you’ll have to learn about them yourself. “
In the same interview, Kanda said that the new consoles’ specifications opened up unprecedented opportunities for Capcom. For example, developers are now able to display many enemies on the screen at the same time. Also, the creators want to tap into the full potential of SSDs in the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.
According to Tsuyoshi Kanda, Capcom has paid a lot of attention to optimizing for new consoles. Resident Evil Village will also take advantage of the Tempest sound engine on the PlayStation 5 and 3D sound on the Xbox Series X.
Recall that Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7, 2021, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S. According to the producer, Capcom expects to sell 10 million copies of the game.
