Sales start in the third quarter
Hyundai has unveiled an updated i20 hatchback that should revive the declining sales of rival Ford Fiesta. Last year they decreased by 5% and amounted to 59,914 cars.
The Hyundai i20 was the Korean manufacturer’s third-best-selling car between 2021 and 2022. Hyundai has equipped the updated i20 with revised front and rear bumpers, new 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels and new Z-shaped LED taillights.
According to Hyundai, the low roof profile and relatively long wheelbase were retained to maintain aerodynamics and a sporty look. The i20 gets three new body color options: Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Gray Pearl, and Meta Blue Pearl.

The car now comes with a lot of equipment as standard. It features a 4.1-inch LCD display, wireless map updates, USB-C ports, and 4G connectivity.
Optional equipment includes a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay support, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and GPS.
Improved security systems are now standard. These include lane tracking and automatic braking when cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles are detected. These systems must now be fitted to vehicles in accordance with the new European Union GSR2 safety regulations.
All trims come with a 98 or 118 hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The new Hyundai i20 will go on sale in the third quarter of this year. The price has not yet been announced.
