New Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed become Oculus exclusives

Games are being created for Oculus virtual reality headsets (Rift, Quest, and Quest 2, which only became known this week). It is not yet clear if these will be AAA projects like Half-Life: Alyx, or simpler games.

Ubisoft Studio Red Storm Entertainment is leading the development of both projects. The team’s portfolio includes VR games such as Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Werewolves Within. In a long-standing policy for Ubisoft, other studios within the company are also helping with development. We are talking about Ubisoft Dusseldorf, Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Reflections.

We’re always exploring new ways to use technology to help us create the ultimate gaming experience. The latest Oculus hardware will allow us to bring Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell to life in new ways for fans. These games will take full advantage of Oculus technology to offer an experience that players cannot find anywhere else.
