“Nobody Believed in It”: A Way Out sold almost 3.5 million copies

“Nobody Believed in It”: A Way Out sold almost 3.5 million copies

Aside from criticizing the Xbox Series X and S titles, in an interview with IGN, Josef Fares talked about how the co-op action game A Way Out has been successful in terms of sales. Even Electronic Arts didn’t believe in the game, he said. By the way, the publishing house did not receive a dime from the project.

In an interview with IGN, Fares said that when he believes in something, nothing can stop him. “Obviously nobody believed in A Way Out – even EA didn’t think it would sell, but they still believed in me,” he said. But Fares was sure everything would work out. And so it happened. According to the director of A Way Out, the game has sold “almost” 3.5 million copies worldwide.

“These numbers are crazy for a small team of 30, 35 people, you know? Considering that 3.5 million copies have been sold, this means that almost 7 million people have played the game. It’s pretty damn cool, ”he said.

By 7 million, he means the way A Way Out is distributed. To play with a friend, you didn’t have to buy a copy for everyone – just one was enough. The second person received a free invitation to join the campaign and could go through it in cooperative mode. The game itself tells the story of two prisoners who escaped from prison, each for their own reasons. This is a dramatic story of friendship between two very different people who find themselves in a dangerous situation.

A Way Out was released on March 23, 2018, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The next game by Yousef Fares and his team is the co-op adventure It Takes Two. It’s more fun and fabulous than A Way Out. It Takes Two will be released on March 26 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
