Non-standard versions of GeForce RTX 3070 presented. Most with huge cooling systems

Video card manufacturers have begun to publish technical specifications of their versions of the upcoming GeForce RTX 3070 video card. To date, companies such as Inno3D, EVGA, Gainward, Colorful, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASUS have noted, providing partial information about their new products.

The fastest among all the presented options for GeForce RTX 3070 are the versions of the GeForce RTX 3070 iChill X3 and iChill X4 performed by Inno3D. The declared frequency of the graphics processor in both cases is 1785 MHz.

Visually, the models differ from each other only in one small detail – the iChill X4 version has an additional fourth fan on the side, while the iChill X3 version has only three of them.

Otherwise, the cards seem to be the same. Both are equipped with two 8-pin connectors for additional power, both will occupy three expansion slots in the PC and are 30 cm long.

Inno3D was one of the few companies that reported the actual power consumption of their graphics cards. It is 240 W, which is 20 W higher than the reference NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 sample.

The technical characteristics of the GeForce RTX 3070 variants from EVGA are still unknown, but the manufacturer has published several images of the upcoming new products. Similar to the older models GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080, the younger version will be presented in four versions – FTW3 Ultra, XC3 Ultra, XC3, and XC3 Black.

Each of these options for the GeForce RTX 3070 is equipped with two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors and a cooling system with three fans. The FTW3 version will occupy three expansion slots in the PC case, while the XC3 versions offer a two-slot version.

The difference between the XC3 and XC3 Black models is that the latter does not have a rear reinforcement plate, while the Ultra variants offer higher factory overclocking of the GPU.

Company Gainward reported all the characteristics of its series cards Phoenix. The manufacturer presented two models: GeForce RTX 3070 Phoenix and Phoenix GS (Golden Sample). The boost frequency of the GS version GPU is 1770 MHz. The power consumption figure for the models is declared at 240 watts.

Both versions will occupy 2.7 expansion slots in the PC case, use three fans in their cooling systems, and are equipped with two 8-pin additional power connectors. The Gainward GeForce RTX 3070 Phoenix variants are equipped with a standard set of video outputs: one HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a.

Interestingly, the Gainward RTX 3070 versions use a different backplate compared to the GeForce RTX3090 and RTX 3080 models from the same manufacturer. The younger version has more honeycomb vents on the backplate, and it itself is painted black instead of brown like the older models.

Company Colorful showed three options GeForce RTX 3070. The list is not version Vulcan X, which the manufacturer offers for older GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. Instead Colorful introduced younger GeForce RTX 3070 in versions Battle Ax, Advanced, and Ultra.

The Colorful GeForce RTX 3070 iGame Ultra OC variant offers factory overclocking, although the manufacturer does not provide details on the GPU frequency. The novelty uses a cooling system with three fans, has a length of 31 cm, and a weight of 1.2 kg.

name Advanced is even bigger. The card is 31.5 cm long and weighs 1.4 kg. This option can be considered the oldest among all Colorful’s offerings until the company presented the Vulcan X version.

The BattleAx variant belongs to the budget Colorful series. These cards do not have RGB backlighting, clever cooling shrouds, and special physical buttons for quickly changing BIOS modes from quiet to productive.

Company Gigabyte has recently updated the page for your model GeForce RTX 3070 Aorus Master. The manufacturer still does not indicate the technical characteristics of the new item but has published several new images of the card.

This version received a non-standard set of video outputs from three DisplayPort 1.4 and three HDMI 2.1. According to the VideoCardz resource, there were reports on the Web that the Gigabyte RTX 3080 Aorus Master model may have some problems with HDMI 2.1 video outputs (the standard is not supported on all connectors), and the power consumption limit in the BIOS settings of the card turned out to be lower than expected. The manufacturer is expected to address these issues with the release of a new BIOS version. We can only hope that the Gigabyte RTX 3070 Aorus Master model will be free from similar troubles at the start of sales.

Company Micro-Star International (MSI) has already presented several options for GeForce RTX 3070, and after some time, is going to present even more different versions of this model. Over the past week, the manufacturer updated the specifications for only one version – the GeForce RTX 3070 Gaming Trio (no X). For her, the company announces the GPU Boost frequency at 1770 MHz.

This version is one of the largest among all the versions of the GeForce RTX 3070. Its length is 32.3 cm, and in the case, the novelty will take three expansion slots. The weight of the card is 1.4 kg. The manufacturer will include a special support bracket in the package so that the cards do not overload the PCIe x16 video connector.

The company has also posted two new map images on its official website.

There is little new data on the versions of the GeForce RTX 3070 performed by ASUS. The manufacturer only confirmed the frequencies of the variants without significant factory overclocking. For the ROG Strix, TUF, and DUAL versions, the same Boost-frequency of the GPU is declared, which is 1755 MHz.

Interestingly, this GPU performance will not be available out of the box. ASUS offers to download from its website a special program for fine-tuning video cards, which will automatically activate this setting of the frequency of the GPU when the PC starts.

For variants of the GeForce RTX 3070 that have received factory overclocking (OC-version), the manufacturer has not yet revealed all the technical characteristics.

Recall that the GeForce RTX 3070 video card in the reference version, as well as invariants from NVIDIA partners, will go on sale on October 28.
