Nvidia A100 GPUs are also in short supply
Strong demand for next-generation graphics solutions from Nvidia Ampere and AMD RDNA 2 Big Navi has led to shortages, prompting speculation and rising consumer graphics cards. Nvidia has decided to prioritize data center products. However, according to the source, this plan did not work. There is a shortage in this segment, too – Nvidia cannot meet the demand for A100 processors for accelerators.
Nvidia cannot provide GPUs not only to the consumer segment but also to data centers
“It will take several months to at least partially meet demand,” said Ian Buck, vice president of Accelerated Computing at Nvidia.
Nvidia partners expect to begin shipping systems with the 80GB Nvidia A100 accelerators introduced in mid-November in the first half of 2021.
