NVIDIA will unveil the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards on May 31. Their sales start in June
NVIDIA plans to announce the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics accelerators on the last day of this month, that is, May 31. Earlier, there were rumors that the newcomers could present on May 18. According to the latest data, NVIDIA will lift the ban on publishing reviews on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti on June 2. Reviews on the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will start appearing on June 9th.
The date of the start of sales of new products has not yet been announced, but usually, video cards come at retail on the day the ban on publication of reviews is lifted or the next day after this date. Information about the new scheduled schedule of NVIDIA announcements was shared by the resources of VideoCardz and Overclocking.com, citing their sources in the ranks of the partners of the manufacturer of the GPU.
It is also indicated that NVIDIA has begun shipping models of Ampere graphics cards based on GPUs of the GA10X-XX2 series. A feature of the chips is the built-in mining limiter. New items are reportedly available for purchase in the coming weeks. It is indicated that NVIDIA is going to update all GeForce RTX 30-series video cards with new GPUs within the next two months, which contain a hardware mining limiter. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX, 3070 Ti models, will ship immediately with it. These video cards initially received new processors – GA102-225 and GA104-400, respectively.
At the heart of the GeForce RTX, 3080 Ti is a GPU with 10 240 CUDA cores (a regular GeForce RTX 3080 has 8704). The video card is equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6X video memory, which is only 2 GB more than the standard GeForce RTX 3080. However, thanks to the support for a wider 384-bit bus, the memory bandwidth of the new product is increased by 152 GB / s to 912 GB / s.
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti uses a GPU with 6144 CUDA cores (the usual one has 5888). The video card will offer 8 GB of GDDR6X video memory. The volume is the same as that of the standard GeForce RTX 3070, but the memory of the new product is faster – the GDDR6X standard. Thanks to this, its bandwidth is 160 GB / s higher and amounts to 608 GB / s.
