Nvidia’s largest revenue now comes from data center networking

On an annualized basis, quarterly revenue increased by 50% to a record of $ 3.87 billion. Compared to the previous quarter, the growth was 26%.

The value of gross profit for the year decreased slightly – from 59.8% to 58.8%, while operating profit increased from 571 million dollars to 651 million dollars, that is, by 14%. To be fair, let us clarify that in quarterly terms operating profit decreased by 33%, and gross profit in the first quarter of the current financial year was equal to 65.1%.

Net profit also decreased compared to the previous quarter – by 32%. However, in annual terms, an increase of 13% was recorded, from 552 to 622 million dollars.

The compilers of the report note that the quarterly results were influenced by the completion of the acquisition of Mellanox, which allowed it to be included in the report. As a result, in the Data Center segment, revenue growth in annual terms was 167%, and in absolute terms, this segment brought Nvidia $ 1.75 billion, that is, almost half of all revenue. For comparison: the Gaming segment brought the company $ 1.65 billion. In other words, Nvidia is now more of a networking hardware maker for data centers than GPUs for gaming graphics cards.
