The premiere will take place on June 2
The rumor that Huawei will unveil the Watch 3 smartwatch on June 2 has been officially confirmed. The company posted a teaser on Weibo today and accompanied it with several comments. Most importantly, it has been verified to be used on the HarmonyOS device.
Official: Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch runs HarmonyOS
He Gang, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Consumer Devices, wrote: “On June 2, we will release the new Huawei WATCH 3 series watch with Hongmeng [as they call HarmonyOS]. They will be able to determine your temperature and breathing . ” From this it follows that along with the pulse oximeter, the body temperature sensor is also implemented in the watch. But there will be no blood pressure monitoring – the first Huawei watch with this feature will appear in the second half of this year.
But the Watch 3 will have a built-in SIM-card (eSIM), thanks to which the watch will be able to work completely autonomously, without necessarily being tied to a smartphone. There will still be two formats – with screens of 42 and 46 mm. They will also offer silicone and leather straps. When it comes to migrating to HarmonyOS, this will result in a completely new user interface and more third-party applications.
