Older iPhones and iPads will soon lose support for new versions of WhatsApp

Owned by Facebook, WhatsApp messenger is one of the most popular instant messaging apps. It has now become known that the program will soon stop being updated on older iPhones and iPads, which are still quite popular as devices for children or elderly users.

Twitter account WABetaInfo, which publishes news related to innovations in the messenger and its work, reported that Facebook is working on a beta version of WhatsApp with number 2.21.50. It is reported that this version of the application will remove support for iOS 9, which is the last available for devices such as iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad mini first generation. Although all these devices are outdated, they are still in demand as devices for children and older people. Obviously, stable versions of WhatsApp will no longer support work on iOS 9.

It is worth noting that the drop in support for iOS 9 is not the only innovation in WhatsApp Beta 2.21.50. It is reported that the new version of the application will be overhauled archived chats, which will now boast an improved user interface.
