Oppo vice president Shen Yiren commented on this announcement, saying that at this stage you should not have too high hopes for this technology. He noted that the technology is certainly very interesting, however, the first smartphones with a sub-screen camera will demonstrate not very high-quality selfies. Only as the technology progresses, it will achieve the desired high result.
Zhang Xuan, executive director of OnePlus, added that a serial commercial phone with a similar camera will be released in the second half of this year, but he also added that this solution is currently not ideal.
Recall that the principle of the technology is that the screen in the camera area at the moment when the user needs the camera becomes transparent and passes the light needed by the image sensor in order to do its job.
