According to a post on Huawei’s official website, the new Huawei Mate 60 series smartphones support StarLight connection technology. This technology is related to the hardware capabilities of the devices. Other Huawei models do not support this feature even if they are updated to HarmonyOS 4.0.
In addition, Huawei stated that FreeBuds Pro 3 is the world’s first Bluetooth headset to use StarLight core connectivity technology. Based on StarLight polar code technology, the anti-interference ability of signal transmission is increased by 2 times. When used with new smartphones, the headphones provide the industry’s first lossless data transfer at 1.5 Mbps.
Only the Huawei Mate 60 supports StarLight connection technology.
Huawei also stated that phones supporting StarLight currently only support search and do not support discovery. That is, the mobile phone’s StarLight settings interface can search for StarLight accessories, but cannot search for other StarLight phones.
At HDC.Together2023 in August this year, Yu Chengdong said that compared with traditional wireless connections, StarLight’s power consumption is reduced by up to 60%, data transmission speed is increased by 6 times, and latency is reduced to 1/30 s.
