Opening Apple AirPods Max earphones was not easy – there is a lot of glue inside

Today, iFixit began examining the internals of Apple’s latest premium wireless on-ear headphones AirPods Max. The device has already been disassembled and experts are investigating the possibility of repairing it in the event of a breakdown. The verdict on this point will be rendered in the next few days.

The first thing iFixit did was x-ray the device. It lets you see the rechargeable batteries in each ear cup, dual speaker magnets, alignment magnets, microphone brackets, and more. The AirPods Max reportedly wasn’t easy to open. The headphones are assembled using a large amount of durable adhesive. Inside each cup are circuit boards heavily littered with electronic components that iFixit will later identify in more detail.

So far, there are no other details on the AirPods Max’s internal device. IFixit specialists are studying their design and promise to share new interesting details in the coming days.
