OPPO Glass augmented reality glasses expected in 2020
The Chinese company OPPO, one of the largest suppliers of smartphones, is close to the release of augmented reality (AR) glasses, according to the resource LetsGoDigital. The novelty may enter the market in the current or next quarter.
At the end of last year, OPPO showed its first AR glasses equipped with dual fisheye cameras and a surround-sound audio system. Then it was said that the release of the device is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020, but so far commercial sales have not begun.
And now it became known that the company had sent an application for registration of the OPPO Glass trademark to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). It is under this name that the VR gadget is expected to be offered on the market.
The application description states that the trademark can be used in connection with smart glasses, virtual reality (VR) devices, and wearable computers. Observers believe that the novelty will combine AR and VR functions, as well as get gaming capabilities.
It can be assumed that the official sales of the new wearable gadget will begin in the coming months. Unfortunately, there is no information about its approximate price at the moment.
