OWC increases Aura P12 M.2 NVMe SSD capacity to 4 TB

These SSDs are used in several OWC external drives.

OWC announced the availability of 4TB solid-state M.2 SSDs. These are Aura P12 M.2 NVMe SSDs, which are used in Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C OWC Envoy Pro EX external drives, as well as in ThunderBlade and Accelsior 4M2 storage devices, which are now offered in up to 16 TB.

Aura P12 drives use 3D NAND flash memory. The drives support security standards, including TCG Opal and TCG Pyrite. They demonstrate read speeds of up to 3400 MB / s and write speeds of up to 3000 MB / s. The Envoy Pro EX Thunderbolt 3 and Envoy Pro EX USB-C external drives with a capacity of up to 4 TB provide speeds of up to 2800 MB / s and 980 MB / s, respectively. Accelsior 4M2 PCIe M.2 NVMe internal storage installed in the PCIe slot provides speeds of up to 6000 MB / s, and external ThunderBlade storage – up to 2800 MB / s.

New SSDs come with a three-year warranty. Acceptance of orders has already begun. Shipment will begin in May. Aura P12 M.2 NVMe 4 TB drive costs $ 1,150, Envoy Pro EX TB3 4 TB – $ 1,180, Envoy Pro EX USB-C 4 TB – $ 1,129. ThunderBlade and Accelsior 4M2 16 TB storage priced at $ 4,999 and $ 4,800, respectively.
