The Mars rover Perseverance, which began its movement on the surface of the Red Planet a few days ago , continues its research, during which it sends new photographs. One of the images shows the shadow cast by the vehicle.
Perseverance rover continues exploration and sends new photos of the Red Planet
At the moment, Perseverance has already traveled about 70 meters on the surface of Mars, during the last reconnaissance, the rover had to explore a potential takeoff site for the Ingenuity drone, which arrived on Mars with the rover. This is a small UAV weighing about 1.8 kg, which will help in the study of the planet.
The Atlas V launch vehicle with the Perseverance rover was launched from the Cape Canaveral launch site in Florida on July 30 last year. In mid-February, the device landed on Mars. Landing on Mars is considered one of the most difficult tasks in astronautics, since this planet has an atmosphere. Landing Perseverance scientists called “seven minutes of horror.”
Earlier, the Perseverance rover sent to Earth the first panorama of Mars in huge resolution , which was made using the Mastcam-Z instrument.
