Model preliminary designation – ID.6

Volkswagen is working on a large D-class electric car for a launch in the last quarter of 2023, a little later than previously planned. Ralf Brandstätter, head of the Volkswagen brand, has confirmed the production plan for this model, designated ID.6 in line with the company’s “electrical nomenclature”.

ID.6 will become the ideological successor of the Passat model in sedan and station wagon bodies, however, due to the peculiarities of the layout of the electric car, there will be more space in the cabin than the current VW Passat. Images of ID concepts. Vizzion and ID. Space Vizzion in the pictures above and below show the possible options for its exterior.

ID.6 will be built on the MEB modular platform and will receive an 84 kWh battery. It is expected that the range when using such a traction battery will be about 700 km. Also for this model will be offered fast charging technology – up to 200 kW. The cars will be produced at the company’s plant in Emden, Germany.
