PUBG Mobile definitively killed in India

Starting today, October 30th, PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG Mobile Lite will stop working in the country. The rights to the PUBG Mobile brand will be returned to the intellectual property owners, and Tencent Games will no longer have the rights to the franchise in India.

Dear Fans, In accordance with an interim order from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will cease providing all services and user access in India to PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG Mobile Lite (collectively PUBG Mobile) on October 30, 2020 of the year. The rights to publish PUBG Mobile in India will be returned to the owner of PUBG’s intellectual property. Protecting user data has always been a top priority and we have always complied with India’s data protection laws and regulations. All information about the gameplay of users is processed in a transparent manner, as stated in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this outcome and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG Mobile India.

The shutdown of PUBG Mobile is part of a second wave of bans by the Indian government. The first, back in June, included popular platforms like TikTok, WeChat, and even some Xiaomi apps like Mi Community and Mi Video Call.
