Realme unveils world’s first SLED TV: RGB, 55-inch, 4K resolution for under $ 600

The Chinese company Realme has officially unveiled the world’s first smart TV made using SLED technology. We are talking about a 55-inch panel, the development of which became known at the end of September.

Let us briefly recall the essence of the SLED system. Unlike conventional LED panels, which use blue backlighting and then convert to white, SLED displays already use RGB backlighting at an early stage. This provides a wide color gamut and significantly reduces the strain on the viewer’s eyes.

The presented TV corresponds to the 4K format – 3840 × 2160 pixels. The display occupies 94.6% of the front surface area. It talks about HDR10 + support and 108% coverage of the NTSC color space.

The novelty is built on a MediaTek processor with four processing cores. The equipment includes a Bluetooth 5.0 controller, a Wi-Fi adapter with support for 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands, HDMI, and USB interfaces.

The TV is equipped with a Dolby Atmos audio system with four speakers with a total power of 24 watts. The operating system Android TV based on Android 9 Pie is used as the software platform.

Acceptance of pre-orders for the new product will begin on October 16. The TV is priced at approximately $ 590.
