Resident Evil 3 sales exceed 3 million copies – Capcom reports record second quarter
Capcom said in a recent financial statement that sales of the Resident Evil 3 remake contributed to record profits in the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
As of September 30, within 6 months of launch, Resident Evil 3 has sold over 3 million copies. Three months ago, Capcom reported that the horror movie had sold 2.7 million copies. This brings the number of copies sold under the franchise to over 105 million.
For the first half of the fiscal year, Capcom’s operating income grew 28% to about $ 171 million. The company also reported that Monster Hunter: World had sales of 16.4 million copies, up 300,000 copies from the first quarter. The game still holds the title of the best-selling project in Capcom history.
Capcom plans to release Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. In addition, Resident Evil Village will release next year on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5.
