Revealed a couple of secrets of iOS 14. Built-in Safari translator and full support for Apple Pencil

The subject resource 9to5Mac announced new features that will appear in the Safari branded browser with the release of iOS and iPadOS 14. He managed to find out the details, delving into the early build of iOS 14.

According to the source, Safari will get a built-in translator and full support for the Apple Pencil stylus. The built-in translator allows you to translate pages without connecting third-party services. It will be available for each page upon request, and the user will also be able to enable automatic translation. You can switch between the original and the translation without reloading the page.

Safari will be just the beginning – Apple will expand the coverage of the function throughout the system. The translation option has been tested for other applications, such as the App Store.

Translation does not require a mandatory network connection, as it will be processed directly on the device using the Neural Engine. The local Neural Engine will even be used for translation using Siri. This is a big step forward – the user will be able to ask Siri to translate something without an Internet connection. In the iPadOS 14 tablets, browsers will also have full support for the Apple Pencil stylus for entering information on websites. In Safari and other browsers, it will become possible not only to scroll pages and touch but also to draw, as well as make notes.

The official debut of iOS 14 is expected at WWDC 2020, which begins June 22. As expected, Apple will release iOS 14 even for the 2015 iPhone.
