As promised in the recent PlayStation 5 commercial, Returnal will hit store shelves in the first half of 2021. Moreover, the release is expected in early spring – March 19.

Housemarque decided to accompany the announcement of the release date with the premiere of the Returnal gameplay trailer. The one and a half minute video demonstrate a cut, mainly consisting of combat fragments.

Notably, the video’s ending calls for Returnal to pre-order, although the game has yet to earn its own PlayStation Store page. This is likely to happen soon.

“[This announcement] marks an important milestone as this is our most ambitious project to date. With Returnal we are creating massive third-person action and exploring the storytelling possibilities, ”notes Housemarque.

Recall that the players in Returnal get the role of the female astronaut Selena, who falls into a time loop on an exotic planet. In order not to lose her mind, the heroine must break the vicious circle.

Returnal is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 5. It was previously reported that the game will support the main features of the console: fast loading, adaptive triggers, tactile feedback and three-dimensional sound.
