“ In parallel, as well as with the Soyuz spacecraft, an analysis of the possible cause will now be carried out from the point of view of technology, from the point of view of preparing the spacecraft for launch, from the point of view of the materials that were used, or the technologies that were used to assemble this radiator ,” he told reporters.

According to Krikalev, the state corporation needs to make sure that the problem does not affect other ships of this type in the future. At the same time, the executive director said that the depressurization of Progress MS-21 is similar to the incident with Soyuz MS-22 in December last year.

“ The most important thing for us now is to make sure that this is not some kind of systematic error because it can affect the same problem on other ships ,” the executive director said.

Krikalev also spoke about the first steps to find a hole and the methods that are planned to be used.

“ It will be necessary to think about how to get information about what this hole looks like, what could be the reason ,” Krikalev noted. To begin with, an external inspection of the ship and shooting in high quality is planned, which will probably allow us to find a gap. The commission, which will analyze the causes of the leak, is already working.
