Rumors: EA has curtailed the development of remasters of both Battlefield: Bad Company and is in no hurry to make the third part

VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb in his microblog commented on the situation around the next part of Battlefield and told how things are with the potential revival of Bad Company.

Recall that the new Battlefield has no official name yet. Regardless, it is believed that DICE is preparing the next installment in the series. However, some still hope to see Battlefield: Bad Company 3.

According to Grubb, one should not count on such an outcome of events: Electronic Arts allegedly acts very carefully in this matter and is not going to play its card ahead of time.

For the same reason, Grubb assures, EA stopped working on remasters of both parts of Bad Company (in the past, the journalist only talked about the first one ) when Vince Zampella moved to the Los Angeles division of DICE.

The fact that the co-founder of Respawn Entertainment took over as head of DICE LA became known in early January 2020. According to Zampella, the studio’s next project is likely to be a shooter.

Electronic Arts promise that the next part of Battlefield will offer “maps of unprecedented scale” and will bring the iconic elements of the franchise (destructible, skirmishes, vehicles) to a new level of quality.

The upcoming Battlefield will be released before the end of this year, and the game should be presented next spring. The list of target platforms is not yet available, but it is known that the future shooter will “take full advantage” of the next-generation consoles.
