Rumors: subscreen Touch ID arrives on iPhone earlier than expected

Apple introduced the iPhone 12 series smartphones a few days ago, but leaks about the company’s next smartphones continue. Not so long ago, it became known that the iPhone 13 will receive displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Now there are rumors that future Apple smartphones will receive sub-screen fingerprint scanners.

An insider hiding under the nickname L0vetodream, who was the first to reveal the exact names of all smartphones in the iPhone 12 series, posted a tweet with the content: ” MESA uts for iPhone .” Authoritative analyst Jon Prosser has deciphered the meaning of these words. He said that “MESA” stands for “Touch ID” and the abbreviation “uts” stands for under the screen. Unfortunately, none of them specified in which smartphone the innovation should be expected. However, the new information is in line with earlier rumors that Apple is working on a sub-screen Touch ID.

Earlier, authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple plans to release at least one iPhone with Touch ID next year. Apple is believed to be working with Qualcomm to implement an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint sensor for the iPhone.

Recall that a few years ago, Apple actively advertised an advanced Face ID face scanner, indicating that it protects the smartphone much better from unauthorized access. It will be interesting to see how Apple advertises its fingerprint scanners again, even though they will be under the screens.
