Rumors: the next Call of Duty will be a sequel to WWII
Confidential information about Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is constantly leaking on the Web. Now, several sources have told about the next part of the famous series of shooters. The studio Sledgehammer Games allegedly develop the game, and the action (at least partially) will unfold during the Second World War.
According to the portal ModernWarzone, which first announced Sledgehammer Games’ participation, the game’s working title is Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard. It may eventually become final by analogy with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – the sub-series and the subtitle’s name.
The resource also said that at least part of the new Call of Duty takes place in the 50s. Given that World War II ended in 1945, the Sledgehammer Games is expected to expand its historical reach to include the Korean War, which lasted from 1950 to 1953.
ModernWarzone also believes that Sledgehammer Games could show an alternate story in which World War II lasted longer. Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard is rumored to be fully integrated with Call of Duty: Warzone.
