The direct competitor for the Ryzen 3 3300X is expected to be the Core i3-10100

A few days ago, the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X processors were introduced – the long-awaited budget models based on the Zen 2 architecture. Recall that the first costs $ 100, the second – $ 120.

These CPUs will go on sale on May 21, and at first, their direct competitors will be the Core i3-9100 and Core i3-9100F, which are clearly slower. However, by the end of May Intel should introduce the desktop Comet Lake CPUs, and among them, there will be the Core i3-10100 (four cores, eight threads, frequencies 3.6-4.3 GHz) and Core i3-10300 (four cores, eight threads), frequencies of 3.7-4.4 GHz). Probably, the first will be a competitor for new AMD products, but the source cites data on the second. So, all four processors have been tested in the Cinebench R20. As a result, the following results were obtained:

  • Ryzen 3 3100 – 444 and 2154 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively
  • Ryzen 3 3300X – 491 and 2341 points
  • Core i3-10100 – 448 and 2284 points
  • Core i3-10300 – 457 and 2330 points
  • Core i7-7700K – 466 and 2257 points

As you can see, the results are really very similar. This is only one test so far, but it allows you to at least roughly understand the balance of power. True, without prices, it is not particularly useful, but you can hope that the Core i3-10100 will cost about $ 120, like its predecessor.
