This is indicated by the roadmap of Intel chipsets
Yesterday, data appeared on the Web that Intel Rocket Lake-S processors will be released only around the middle of March next year, and today this data was confirmed by the image of the roadmap of Intel chipsets.
Sad news about Intel processors. Rocket Lake-S – March only and no new CPU HEDTs for 8 months
As you can see, the release of the 500 series chipsets is scheduled only for March next year, and they will appear sooner by the end of the month. As a reminder, the Z590 is set to debut alongside Rocket Lake-S. But this roadmap is even more disappointing for those who counted on the purchase of the new Intel HEDT processor – those will not be available until June next year. All the while, the X299 platform will continue to be offered.
Obviously, Intel is losing another battle to AMD in the user segment, since the official announcement of the Ryzen 5000, which Rocket Lake-S will compete with, will take place tomorrow. However, as far as chipsets are concerned, AMD will not be zealous here and will not release new models after the release of the CPU on the Zen 3 architecture (that is, the same Ryzen 5000). Perhaps, of course, the company will update the X570 and rename it X670, but this will be a very small upgrade. A big one is expected by the end of next year when AMD switches to the new AM5 socket – along with DDR5 memory and new processors based on the Zen 4 architecture. By the way, Rocket Lake-S is the latest Intel CPUs with an LGA1200 processor socket.
