Samsung almost has prototypes of TVs and monitors based on brand new QD-OLED panels

Samsung continues to prepare for the transition to QD-OLED panels. Samsung Display will ship prototype TVs and monitors with the new panel type to potential customers for testing this month. Previously, Samsung has already sent prototypes of panels to potential customers, but now we are talking about finished devices. Serial devices are expected in the second half of the year.

Samsung almost has prototypes of TVs and monitors based on brand new QD-OLED panels

As a reminder, QD-OLED panels combine the advantages of OLED technology and quantum dots.  

Samsung is currently working on three engineering prototypes of the T-con time controller that controls the display. We are talking about versions for 4K and 8K TVs, as well as for monitors. QD-OLED technology is being considered by Samsung as a replacement for both LCD and OLED panels.
