Samsung confirms Galaxy S21 series smartphones will get S-Pen support

Samsung Mobile President Tae Moon Roch (TM Roch) today revealed some of the company’s product development plans in the company’s blog. He confirmed that Samsung will host the event in January. The flagship Galaxy S21 family is expected to be unveiled during this event. Ro also hinted that more devices will get S-Pen support.

This information confirms previous leaks indicating stylus support for Galaxy S21 smartphones. It also indirectly confirms the upcoming rejection of the Galaxy Note family. Its development will become impractical if S-Pen support debuts in smartphones of other series. It was the ability to work with the stylus that distinguished the Galaxy Note from the S-series smartphones.

Ro also said Samsung is looking to expand its portfolio of foldable devices. He said the company wants to make this product category more affordable. This is in line with rumors that the company plans to introduce affordable versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 2. It looks like Samsung is aiming to make the foldable phone segment more mainstream.

In addition, Ro said that Samsung will focus more on camera capabilities. He said that artificial intelligence will be used to improve image quality.

As a reminder, the launch of Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones is expected on January 14th. The series is expected to include the Galaxy S21, S21 +, and S21 Ultra. International versions of smartphones will be based on the Exynos 2100 chipset, while models for the South Korean and American markets will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.
