Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: detailed characteristics of the main flagship of early 2021
The announcement of the flagship family of smartphones Samsung Galaxy S21 will take place, according to preliminary data, on January 14, 2021. This will be the earliest premiere of the S-series in its entire history. Three models are expected to see the light – Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra. The latter will not only get the largest screen of the whole trio, but will also receive support for the S Pen stylus. Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de told about other characteristics of the new item.
According to an insider, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will receive a 6.8-inch curved Infinity-O-Edge AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels and a density of 515 ppi. The maximum brightness of the matrix will be 1600 nits, and the maximum refresh rate is 120 Hz. The front panel of the smartphone will be covered with a protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The back panel will also be glass.
The hardware platform of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the Exynos 2100 processor, supplemented with 12 GB of RAM and an integrated flash drive of 128, 256 or 512 GB. The smartphone will ship to the US market with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
A quadruple rear camera with a main 108-megapixel module (f / 1.8, 0.8 μm, OIS) will be responsible for photo and video shooting in the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It also assumes the presence of a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module with a viewing angle of 120 degrees and 1.4-micron pixels, as well as two stabilized zoom lenses that provide three- and ten-fold approximation. The specs also mention the presence of hybrid and phase detection autofocus. A 40-megapixel selfie camera will be installed in front.
Communication capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra include support for two physical SIM cards and eSIM, 5G networks, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC. Of the wired interfaces, only USB Type-C, compatible with 45-watt fast charging of a 5000 mAh battery.
The smartphone will go on sale with pre-installed Android 11 operating system and proprietary graphical One UI 3.1 shell. In Europe, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will start at 102976.33.
