ISOCELL HM3 will support ISOCELL 2.0 technology
According to preliminary data, Samsung will announce the Galaxy S21 series on January 14 next year. The lineup is expected to include the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 +, and S21 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra features new ISOCELL HM3 sensor
The flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra should be equipped with a 108MP main camera, like the S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra, which were released this year. A well-known network informant under the nickname Ice Universe, who often shares exclusive information about new products in the mobile industry, said that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will use the Samsung ISOCELL HM3 image sensor.
Samsung’s ISOCELL HM2 sensor was announced in September this year, with this year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra featuring an ISOCELL HM1 sensor. Interestingly, the HM2 sensor is smaller than the HM1 sensor (1 / 1.52 “versus 1 / 1.33”).
Samsung is expected to introduce ISOCELL 2.0 technology soon, which will offer increased light sensitivity over the ISOCELL Plus technology used in the ISOCELL HM2 sensor. ISOCELL HM3 is expected to support ISOCELL 2.0 technology.
Ice Universe also added that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will not have a time-of-flight camera, and the pixel size will remain 0.8 microns. In general, the insider claims that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will be a slightly improved version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
He added that Samsung will bring back the classic silver color in the new lineup.
