According to him, the phone’s fingerprint sensor will be 1.77 times larger than the current Galaxy S20. The sensor size is 64 square millimeters. It is reported that the unlocking speed of the smartphone will almost double. In addition, the accuracy of the sensor will improve. As a reminder, Samsung has started using ultrasonic sensors in its flagship devices starting with the Galaxy S10 introduced in 2019. Since then, the sensor has hardly changed.

There are speculations that the Galaxy S21 could use a Qualcomm fingerprint sensor. Last year, the chipmaker introduced the 3D Sonic Max sensor, which has been touted as the largest fingerprint scanner capable of using two fingers at the same time to authenticate a user. As a reminder, the launch of the Galaxy S21 series is expected in the middle of next month.
