The original version of the clamshell is equipped with a flexible 6.7-inch FHD + Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex display with a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels. The equipment includes an eight-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB flash drive, and a 1.1-inch external screen. The main dual camera combines a pair of 12 million pixel sensors.

Ross Young, founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) says Samsung has no plans to announce the Galaxy Z Flip 2 alongside its flagship Galaxy S21 series. The latter is rumored to debut in January, while the presentation of the Galaxy Z Flip 2 will take place later in the spring of next year. More precise terms, alas, have not yet been disclosed.

Today it is known that the new clamshell smartphone will receive a number of “curious changes” compared to the first-generation device. What exactly we are talking about has not yet been specified. According to rumors, the size of the external screen will increase and the characteristics of the cameras will improve. The novelty will certainly be able to function in fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks. Plus, more modern electronic components will be used.
