Samsung to unveil four flexible smartphones and none Galaxy Note in 2021

For the first time in years, Samsung’s plans to release flagship devices for next year cannot be predicted with certainty. First, the Korean company will introduce the Galaxy S21 family much earlier than usual, and the S21 Ultra will receive support for the proprietary S-Pen stylus, which has always been the prerogative of the Galaxy Note. Because of this, many analysts are confident that the company plans to abandon the release of “large” flagships.

Some sources, however, suggest that Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 21 family, which will be the final for the series. Others argue that the Note will be replaced by foldable smartphones, in which Samsung is now leading the way. According to the latest information from Korea, the company will launch as many as four new clamshell models next year.

Samsung is said to release two Z Fold 3 series devices and two Z Flip 2 smartphones. As for the Z Flip 2 family, the report says it will include the shareable and flagship models. As for the Z Fold 3, nothing is known about the differences between the models, but it can be assumed that one of the devices will be “simplified”. It is reported that all four smartphones will receive 5G support.

As for the fate of the Galaxy Note, analysts agree that Samsung will focus all its efforts in the second half of the year on preparing for the launch of two series of foldable smartphones, tentatively due in September. The presence of the stylus-enabled Galaxy S21 Ultra in the lineup will deprive the company of the need to develop the Galaxy Note family, which clearly indicates that the Note 21 will not. Earlier leaks also confirm this, suggesting that the team behind the Galaxy Note series is now developing foldable phones.
