Samsung’s flagship smartphones next year will get 65-watt fast charging

Samsung is reportedly working on a fast-charging adapter for its upcoming flagship smartphone family. According to a new leak, devices in the S21 or Note 21 series, which will debut next year, will boast 65W fast charging.

The source of the leak was the reputable Sammobile publication. The report says the South Korean smartphone maker is working on a new charger with model number EP-TA8565. It is already certified in South Korea. It is produced by the Vietnamese company Solum Vina Co Ltd., which previously produced power adapters for Samsung devices. Given that Samsung’s 45W PSU has model number EP-TA845, it is clear that the EP-TA865 charger will receive 65W. This is indicated by the last two digits of the index.

The implementation of support for 65-watt fast charging in upcoming flagship smartphones looks like a logical step from Samsung. Companies such as Oppo, Xiaomi, and ZTE already have smartphones in their portfolio that support charging at this capacity. In the near future, OnePlus will join them with the 8T model.
