Samurai Shodown Coming Next Week with New Fighter – Hibiki from The Last Blade 2

Back in January 2021, SNK Corporation announced a collection of Season 3 DLC characters for Samurai Shodown. Later, the savage Cham-Cham was introduced to the monkey Paku Paku. It’s already available in the game, and now it’s time to launch the second expansion, which will bring Hibiki Takane, a guest character from The Last Blade 2.

Hibiki Takane will appear in the game on April 28, but for now, the developers have offered a trailer introducing this heroine and her set of techniques. Hibiki first appeared in The Last Blade 2. She is the daughter of a blacksmith who goes on a journey in the original game after her father forges an unusual sword and is killed. Hibiki will join other crossover guest characters like Sentinel from the multiplayer action movie For Honor and Gongsun Li from the mobile MOBA Honor of Kings.

There will be four characters in total in the third Season Pass. Two of them are not named, but the developers have already promised that the latter will also add a guest fighter – this time from the Guilty Gear universe. For the launch on June 11, Guilty Gear: Strive is a 3D fighting game that will retain the anime style of the series. SNK will share more details on the upcoming collaboration later.

Samurai Shodown was released in 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, subsequently visited Slots, Nintendo Switch, PC ( via Epic Games Store ), and Google Stadia, and launched for Xbox Series X and S as a special edition on March 16. The fighting game is set in Japan in the 18th century, three years before the events of the original part.
